The association, which represents venture capitalists, released a study that provides an in-depth look at the state of tech jobs in the U.S. The report examines the employment trends of tech companies in the U.S., and it concludes that almost 60 percent of all tech companies now have an office in one of the 50 U.S. states. That’s up from just over 50 percent in 2011, when the association began tracking the data. The largest increase in jobs was in California, where the state added more than 35,000 jobs, or more than 10 percent of the total increase. Utah had the second-highest job growth, up nearly 14,000, or more than 5 percent of the total. The one major spot where there was a significant decrease in tech jobs, according to the report, is in the Northeast. In the last five years, employment in the Northeast has dropped by more than 25,000, or almost 20 percent of all job losses across the country.
